'Money Tree' Nail Art Tutorial // Essence "Vintage District" collection
#4: Money Tree - Last but not least, I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS! This was a totally random mix because my brain was just so clogged up with schoolwork and I wanted to see where my cluttered brain would take me to. It really reminds me of a money tree, you know, gold (and pink) coins raining down from a tree? Yeah? Haha! This looks spectacular from afar and when I looked closely, I just went into a daze because of all the holographic-ness. You can use either the orange polish or pink polish as bases for this look. I mattified the mani...because I wanted to (and it looked really really 3D!) Learn how to create this crazy look in just 5-6 steps!

'Grey Gold' Nail Art Tutorial // Essence "Vintage District" collection
#3: Grey Gold - a combination of grey with purple flexes and random gold leaf flakes! This look kinda reminds me of what OPI's "The Man With The Golden Gun" would do (I don't own that polish though) and this is a way cheaper alternative to that! This is absolutely great to do a 'robin's egg' kind of manicure (blue base with gold flakes, can we say yes please?). I'm loving this combination and I learnt the idea of smashing the gold leaf sheet into pieces from 'Arcadianailart' on Youtube :) Learn how to create this mani in just 3-5 steps!

'Blue Universe' Nail Art Tutorial // Essence "Vintage District" collection
#2: Blue Universe - inspired by the deep dark cosmic forces (I've been studying stars lately haha!). I think the blue hexagonal glitters gave off a very lovely effect. It's somewhat like mermaid scales but it adds a lot of depth. I decided to keep my index and last fingers simple because there are already a lot going on in the middle two fingers. My name is Annabel and Raeanne isn't really my in-my-indentification-card name but a self-anointed name when I was 15. I just think that it's cool to have such a seemingly sophisticated name (ha-ha, who am I kidding) on the interwebs because I'm transparent like that. I'm an English Literature major and a Philosophy minor but I'm not really a litsy or philosophical person as compared to the rest of the world I just think I like to think quite a bit
but somehow that just doesn't translate to how much I can think when I sit for a paper. Oh well, says the brain. Suck it, says the education system here. I'm too shy to make Youtube videos because I think I have a really weird voice - it's like a cross between a man's and a horse's, or the howling wind. Dang it, why can't I sound like some cutesy little creature roaming the lands looking for food and shelter? I don't really have a vivid imagination (which explains why I fail at constructing my own memory palace... more like a memory dumpsite). When I grow up (ha-ha again, as if you're not already grown up),
I want to own a whole wall of book shelves with a sliding ladder...like that of those huge bookstores, you know what I'm sayin'? And lastly, my dream, my dear everlasting greatnloving semi-unattainable dream, is to earn a ton of money and then marry a hot loving funny intelligent man and we'll buy a huge house together and my best friend Tsai will just stay next door and she'll have a gabillion children (and our children will be best friends and so darn smart that I'll feel so darn stupid) and I'll give my parents and my younger brother a freaking good life haha. Oh, and I guess I should mention (just to put it out there, in case some random earthling decides to ask me how this whole section is even related to the word "nail" or "polish" because they can't comprehend what "about me" means or they think "me" refers to a human-sized bottle of polish, I like nail polish, but I love doing art with it more. ;)

what is followthatway?
started out as a random tumblr one fine day, completely unintentional in doing nail art and typography and what not (believe me, I'm still in shock that I'm doing nail art because I used to be a serial nail biter/peeler I think I could be prosecuted for it as a crime or something). I can't exactly remember why I named it 'followthatway' (see, memory dumpsite) but you know how some names just sticks to you (like forever)? Anyway,
this blog is something like a follow-up to my Instagram (or an expansion, if you like to call it that) so... stay safe and enjoy reading! :)
